CEO, President, Director, Writer & Producer

Domenic Casillo is the CEO, President, and Founder of Avalon Media Productions, Inc., and runs its day-to-day production and distribution operations. He started his career in the gourmet food industry, opened and consulted for many high-end restaurants, and worked in that industry for many years.  He studied at the French Culinary Institute and the Italian Academy of Culinary Arts in New York City.  In his thirties, he turned to theater and studied acting at HB Studios in New York City.  He performed in several off-Broadway productions and produced several plays and tributes.  The esteemed playwright Eve Ensler wrote one of the plays he produced.  He also participated in the tribute to Arthur Miller, with such esteemed actors as, Dustin Hoffman, Ann Jackson, and Eli Wallach.  After several years in theater, he became interested in television production and was fortunate to meet Chris Albrecht and Shelia Nevins at HBO.  He was given the opportunity to Executive Produce several Documentaries, including The Latin Kings Discovery America, Naked Stages, and the first HBO documentary soap opera, the TV series G String Divas, for the HBO American Undercover Series.

He produced the Viva La Musica concert, celebrating the great Tito Puente’s birthday, packed with some of the greatest Latin performers who paid tribute to the ‘King of Latin Music’ the concert was broadcast on Showtime Special Events.  He also produced and released the album ‘Viva La Musica’ on Viva Discos/Universal label.  He has continued producing, writing, and directing, documentaries, comedy concerts, music concerts, and commercials in addition to various television programs, for the cable networks, HBO, Showtime Events, and On Demand television.  In addition, he has put together a distribution team, whereby he and his team distributes television and motion pictures domestically and internationally.
